The Seton Catholic Drama Club will perform “An Appointment With Death” Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon in the school Performing Arts Center.
Tickets are available online at https://app.mobilecause.com/f/2j7b/n?vid=2s98n and at the door for $5 per person.
The play is a psychological murder-mystery set in the 1940s in the Middle East and tells the story of several characters who meet in a hotel and one of them dies. The author of the novel is Agatha Christie.
“We have not performed this show in the past,” said Mrs. Linda Scheurman, Seton’s drama program director. “My goals are to involve a wide variety of our student body. I like to make small roles for students who would like to try acting.”
Isabella Villagomez plays Mrs. Boynton, who is the villain. Ellie Saunders plays Dr. Sarah King, who is the love interest of Raymond Boyton, who is played by Henry Davis-Morales and Morgan Kasch.
“Our cast members are participating in three fall sports, which has made it very difficult to get everyone together for rehearsals,” said Mrs. Scheurman, who founded Seton’s drama program in 2010.
The performances are at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.
“There is a lot of teamwork that needs to be done to create a successful show,” said Lauren Bell, who plays Lady Westholme and is also stage manager. “There were lots of bumps and bruises during the rehearsals, but we pulled together nicely and we all learned so many valuable lessons.
“We can’t wait to show the school what we’ve created.”
