What Seton Catholic girls’ soccer lacked in defense, they made up for in heart in Thursday’s 12-0 home loss to the King’s Way Knights.

On the Cougars’ Senior Night, a bittersweet wave of realization washed over the fans that this would be the last time the seniors showed us leadership, talent, and sportsmanship on the pitch.

Senior Riley McDonough almost erased the shutout with a second half goal, but it was disallowed because of offsides. Watching from the sidelines, senior Seth Moore said, “Even though the goal did not count on the scoreboard, it counted in our hearts.”

With the regular season now over, the Cougars have their sights set on another season of hard work, ups, downs, and improvement.

Next fall, the Cougars look to come back even stronger, make a run into the playoffs, and make their fans, family, friends, classmates, and seniors proud once again.
