Guys & Dolls a Review
December 12, 2018
The drama department’s Guys and Dolls was a fun, colorful performance that left audience members loving it “a bushel and a peck.”
Seton Catholic’s fall production of Guys and Dolls was a huge success, with all three shows selling out on November 16-18th. The show featured talent from all grades, integrating first-time thespian freshmen, theater veteran seniors, and everyone in between.
Main characters Sky Masterson, Nathan Detroit, Miss Adelaide, and Sister Sarah Brown were played by sophomore Koen Ross and seniors Anthony Kutch, Elizabeth Hennessy and Kendra Brislawn, respectively.
“I had never taken on a lead role until now,” Ross reflects. “being in Guys and Dolls provided an excellent opportunity for me to learn more about stage techniques and do something that I really enjoy at the same time.”
This passion for theater was exhibited by all cast members through their outstanding performance. Junior Madie Beauchamp fondly recalls viewing the performance, stating that “the play was intriguing, full of passion and humor.”
While a popular theme throughout the play, luck had nothing to do with Seton Catholic’s outstanding Guys and Dolls performance— hard work, talent, and dedication were what made the show truly successful. Bravo, drama department, and here’s to many more exciting shows to come!
